African Valley Estate is situated between the Stellenbosch and Franschhoek Valley and within the main wine routes of the area. Located in the Simonsberg mountain range and just a stone’s throw from the historical Stellenbosch town. Spectacular views of the surrounding area and of Table Mountain.

Just 40 minutes from Cape Town and within close proximity to top golf courses, African Valley Estates offers a unique escape for the discerning traveller.African Valley Estate is a modern small luxury hotel that stands for extra personal service what gives the guests a more relaxing and peace full stay. We arrange personal wine tours, spa treatments and advise the guests for golf courses, restaurants or any other activity the guest will prefer.

African Valley Estate is Dutch owned small luxury hotel situated on the Helshoogte Pass with breathtaking views over False Bay, Table Mountain and Simonsberg mountains, just three minutes drive from Stellenbosch Centre. Sunset drinks can be taken next to the 18 meter  pool or in the spacious reception lounge area. You can enjoy fine cuisine in our gourmet restaurant, accompanied by five star wines from the area. We also offer shuttle services and tours in and around Stellenbosch.

Our 12 luxurious suites are 62 square metres each and they all have their own open fire place, underfloorheating, satellite television, climate control, wireless internet connection and a private patio with furniture.

Terms and Conditions

  • Please notify the hotel of any late arrivals, changes to your reservation details or cancellations
  • Check in time is from 14h00 onwards; check out time is by 11h00
  • In order to guarantee this reservation, a non-refundable deposit is required prior to arrival
  • African Valley Estate reserves the right to release bookings that are non-guaranteed
  • A no-show fee will be charged if guests fail to arrive at the hotel on the stated date or if cancellations are done within 24 hours
    of arrival.
  • Any amendments (decrease in number of days), after the deposit has been paid, will be charged at 100%.
  • The facilities available at the Hotel are strictly reserved for the use of residents.
  • Rooms sleep a maximum of 2 adults. Third person in room on request.
  • All rates are subject to change without notice
  • All rates include breakfast
  • All rates include 14% V.A.T. should the government increase the rate, the hotel reserves the right to possibly increase the rate.
  • All rates are quoted in South African Rand and foreign currency payments are accepted at the daily bank rate of exchange valid in South Africa on the date that payment is received.

Directions
From the N1
Take the Stellenbosch & Klipheuwel turn off on your left.  At the T-junction turn right.  Continue for approx 15 minutes, past the first set of traffic lights at Kayamandi, past the second set and at the Seven Eleven turn left at the traffic lights. At the next traffic lights turn right, onto the Helshoogte Pass. Continue with this road until you see Simons Rust (Spar) on your right & Idas Valley on your left.  Cross over that set of traffic lights and the entrance of African Valley will be 1km from Spar/Simonsrust on your right.

From the N2
Follow the N2 towards Somerset West.  Take the R44 turn off at Somerset West and turn right. Drive straight for approx 15-20min into Stellenbosch.  Go past the Stellenbosch station and keep left. You will see Eikestad & Stellenbosch Motors on your left & right, cross over the set of traffic lights.  At the next traffic lights turn right onto the Helshoogte Pass towards Franschhoek. Continue with road until you see Idas Valley on your left & Simonsrust Spar on your right.  Cross over the set of traffic lights and the entrance of African Valley will be 1km from Simonsrust Spar on your right.

From Franschoek
Take the R 310 towards Stellenbosch. After you passed Tokara and Delaire you see the African Valley Estate entrance on your left hand side.
