African Silhouette Guesthouse, situated 20 km from O.R.Tambo Airport in Benoni (on the border of Kempton Park), is an oasis of peace and tranquility in a hustle-and-bustle world. It was established in 2006, after having two dreams, over two nights.
The broken pieces used to create a Mosaiek carpet at the entrance, represents broken dreams, “Petach Tiqvah”, the door of hope. It speaks of restoration, healing and grace, bringing love, faith and hope. Owner and Hostess, Susan, ensures that all visitors to African Silhouette, be they business travellers or honeymoon couples, are warmly welcomed with love and treated with great care, so that they leave well rested and refreshed.

Each room boasts a secret garden and outside shower. It includes a kettle, tea and coffee, a mini fridge stocked with traditional snacks and drinks, DSTV,M-Net and TKCTV, a fan, heater and writing desk as well as international power points and wireless internet connection.

Surrounded by beautifully landscaped gardens, this charming guesthouse offers comfortable en-suite bedrooms, each with its own secret garden. Throughout the guesthouse, nature flows freely and the serenity of the countryside, the warm ambience, comfortable beds and good food ensures that each and every guest enjoys a special and relaxing stay.
Nutritious, home-cooked meals are served in the cozy dining room or in the garden, if the guests prefers. Alteratively, traditional South African cuisine (Braaivleis, Spitbraai, pap, salads and fresh bread, jam and dessert) can be prepared in the spacious “Boma” – a wonderful place to gather around a roaring fire in the evenings, or to relax and enjoy the sound of birdsong during the day, while reading.
Photographers and bird watchers alike will enjoy the abundance of bird life, and for the more energetic, there is also a trampoline and horse riding available, as well as a Rock Pool and Koi dam to relax next to.
